Moriarty Breaks Through for First Win in League Championship Series; Now Trails 2-1
The Moriarty Suns got a strong game from starter Brian Underwood, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.

The Suns took the 3-2 win over the Whitby Bats in Game 3 of the League Championship Series in a 9th inning walk-off today. The win capped off a fine outing for the right-handed Underwood. Underwood threw 8.2 innings allowing 2 runs in the win, which allowed the Suns to narrow their deficit to 1-2 in the best-of-7 series.

Corey David was the walk-off hero for Moriarty. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Suns first baseman hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.

"Ever since we qualified for the playoffs, the guys have been razzing me about how I'm going to embarrass myself out there," the rookie David said with a smile. "I'm glad to prove them wrong, at least for a day."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Super Solarplex in Moriarty.
