Almost There: Spokane On Cusp of DS Triumph After 3-2 Win
|
The Spokane Selects moved to within one game of the League Championship Series today, downing the visiting Orono Oaks at Selects Ballpark by a score of 3-2. Selects left-hander Mike Canales had a strong outing in which he threw 6.2 innings allowing 2 runs. The win gives the Selects a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Division Series.
Bryan Bejarano went 1-3 for Spokane. In a tie game with one out in the bottom of the eighth, Bejarano came through with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Selects in front, 3-2.
"It feels good to get this one," Canales told the Spokane Today.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Selects Ballpark in Spokane.
