Unicorns Topple Warlocks with Late Rally
Nate Ladnier, who is tied for 4th in the SL1 in triples with 6, led Newport to a triumph over Waco. The final score was 9-6. The shortstop went 3 for 5, falling a triple shy of the cycle. He scored 1 run and added 4 RBI. Mark Achord picked up the save for Newport, his 3rd of the year. The win puts the Unicorns at 39-64, while the Warlocks drop to 46-57.

In the bottom of the eighth, the Unicorns grabbed the lead when Ladnier hit his 12th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Pete Bowden made it 8-5, Newport.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Ladnier told the Newport Observer.
