Unicorns Suffer 7-4 Home Defeat
|
Newport designated hitter Adam Rycroft was sensational. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Waco beat the Unicorns, 7-4. Getting the save was Brian Rosen, his 16th. The third-place Warlocks now have a record of 46-56.
Tied up with the Unicorns in the top of the fourth inning, the Warlocks got a boost from center fielder Alex Morales. With the bases loaded, Morales saw a first pitch fastball from Danny Guerrero and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Waco on top, 5-3.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Morales said after the game.
