Brice Shine imposed his will on the Lynx from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the left-hander spearheaded the 4-1 Medford triumph. In 5.1 innings, Shine surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. The first-place Desperados now have a record of 58-22.
Medford used the hitting of Daniel Friedrich to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Desperados on top, 3-1. For the game, Friedrich had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Medford manager Noah Alexander.
