Cincinnati Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-2
|
The Cincinnati Bombardiers have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Augusta Capitols, winning 3-1 at Ballpark of Cincinnati today. Bombardiers right-hander Antonio Alvarez threw 6.2 innings of 2-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Bombardiers to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Division Series.
In the bottom of the fourth, Cincinnati first baseman John Mahoney had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 3rd and two out, Mahoney stroked a 2-run home run to left-center. It made the score 3-1, Cincinnati. For the game, he was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Alvarez.
The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 19th , 2020 at The Capitol Dome in Augusta.
