Black Aces Rally to Nose Past Medford
|
The Santa Ana Black Aces topped the Medford Desperados, 3-2, in 11 innings at Ballpark of Medford. The game was highlighted by the performance of Santa Ana pitcher Omar Valentin. Santa Ana has an impressive 53-23 record.
Santa Ana needed the clutch hitting of Mike Baumgardner to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Black Aces on top, 3-2. For the game, Baumgardner had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Valentin told the Santa Ana Daily News.
