Royals Move on to World Series
|
While it wasn't a complete mismatch, the Cincinnati Royals showed themselves to be the superior team in the Championship Series, downing the Charleston Shiners 4-1.
"Nothing is ever easy in the American Baseball Association playoffs. Whether you're a favorite or an underdog, you can't take anyone lightly or you'll get burned," said Aaron Jalbert, who was named series MVP after a standout offensive performance.
Cincinnati won the final game by a 1-0 count at The Castle to clinch its spot in the next round.
They will hope to once again rely on Jalbert there, as he hit .389 with 1 home runs, 1 RBI 5 runs scored during the series.
The Cincinnati Royals don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Detroit Giants - Philadelphia Marauders series. Detroit leads the series 3 games to 1. The World Series schedule will be announced after the Championship Series finishes.
