Alex Gonzales never let the Desperados get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Warlocks to a win, 5-1. Gonzales, the winner, moves to 3-8. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 1 walk. The Warlocks saw their win-loss record go to 45-53. At the same time, the Desperados fell to 63-35.
Chris Gallagher helped out the Waco cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the pinch hitter was 1-1.
"Alex pitched like a champ," said Waco manager Mike Schwartz.
