Shiners Win, Move to Within 1 Game of Championship Series
San Diego left fielder Jon Pitts pounded Charleston Shiners pitchers at Ballpark of Charleston, but it was not enough to keep the Fleet from falling, 10-7, in Game 3 of the Divisional Series. Pitts slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice, though he couldn't keep the Fleet from slipping to a 3-0 deficit in the best-of-7 series.

Ty Beckford broke a 7-7 tie in the bottom of the seventh with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It put the Shiners in front, 8-7. For the game, Beckford went 2-3 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 2.

"I just try to bring what I bring to this team," said Beckford.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Charleston in Charleston.
