Crawdads Clip Lasers, 5-4, in WS Contest

The Hickory Crawdads and the Nashville Lasers will take the World Series to a decisive 7th game. The Crawdads got a dramatic, walk-off victory in a must-win situation to beat the Lasers, 5-4, at Crawdad Park and force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Nashville third baseman Joe Cross was impressive in a losing effort. He went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Hickory trailing 4-3, Adam Nance hit a changeup from Vinny Luna to right for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Crawdads had a walk-off win.
Nance said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Crawdad Park in Hickory.
