Almost There: Whitby On Cusp of DS Triumph After 4-3 Win
The Whitby Bats moved to within one game of the League Championship Series today, downing the visiting Terra Linda Chargers at Eláguila Stadia by a score of 4-3. Bats right-hander Mark Herrera had a strong outing in which he threw 5.2 innings of 1-hit ball. The win gives the Bats a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Division Series.

Whitby took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With no one out, catcher Justin Cole hit a solo home run that set the crowd abuzz.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Herrera.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Eláguila Stadia in Whitby.
