Heathens Win Championship Series
|
Chance Smith wore out opposing pitchers en route to being named Championship Series MVP.
The star's Halifax Heathens defeated the Boston Whistlers by a series score of 4-1 to advance to the World Series.
Halifax won the final game by a 4-1 count in front of a raucous crowd at Whislters Park.
Smith hit .350 with a .409 on-base percentage in the series, while also adding 1 home runs, driving in 5 RBI and scoring 3 runs.
"Just trying to do my job, that's all there is too it," said Smith.
The Halifax Heathens don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Oakland Invaders - Hollywood Stars series. Oakland leads the series 3 games to 2. The World Series schedule will be announced after the Championship Series finishes.
