Elmore Excels, But Unicorns Win
The Greensboro Naturals got a sterling performance from left fielder Chris Elmore, but the Newport Unicorns still prevailed, 7-3. Elmore hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The 5th-place Naturals have lost 5 consecutive games.

Newport used the timely hitting of Adam Rycroft to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Unicorns on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Rycroft attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
