Golden Gophers Take Tight Tangle
The Little Rock Golden Gophers weathered a fine game by Santa Ana center fielder Kyle Twigg to upend the Black Aces, 8-7, at Little Rock Grounds. Twigg went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win was credited to Jeremy Harrison in relief. His record improves to 5-3. Rick Deyo took the loss. The Golden Gophers, at 74-19, lead by one game in their division.

The game reached a climactic end in the bottom of the ninth. With Little Rock trailing 7-6, Bobby Barnes delivered the decisive blow, stroking a fastball from Rick Deyo for a 2-run home run. Ballgame.

"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Barnes said.
