Critical Game 5 Goes to Host Whistlers, 5-4
Game 5 was big. So was Jay Helm.

In leading Boston to a crucial 5-4 victory over the Detroit Giants at Whislters Park, the Boston starter rose to the occasion, tossing 6.1 good innings. Helm threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball as the Whistlers defended their home field to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

Tyler Jordan was 1-2 with a walk against the Giants. With the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Boston in front, 4-3.

Boston manager Ben Foster commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."

The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, October 12th , 2022 at Ballpark of Detroit in Detroit.
