Dominant Performance by Kreps in Newport Win
|
The Newport Unicorns racked up a win at Chanticleers Ballpark, bumping off the St. Joseph Mighty Mites, 5-3. Nate Kreps, who started for Newport, pitched effectively for his team. Allen D'Amico earned the save for Newport, his 5th. The win makes Newport 45-50.
The Unicorns liked what they saw from Kreps. The 21-year- old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Mighty Mites to 1 run on 3 hits over 7 innings, and striking out 8.
"Nate is a gamer," said Newport manager Victor Sepulveda.
