Almost There: Detroit On Cusp of DS Triumph After 10-4 Win
The Detroit Giants moved to within one game of the Championship Series, downing the visiting Halifax Heathens at Ballpark of Detroit by a score of 10-4. Giants designated hitter Chris Lutz did some major damage. He was 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win gives the Giants a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

Ryan Forsythe, who is a two-time All-Star, came through for Detroit with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the eighth. The first baseman went 2 for 3 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 2 RBI.

"We haven't stopped playing," Halifax manager David Morris said. "We didn't get this far to give up."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Detroit in Detroit.
