Desperados Grind Out 2-0 Win
|
Andy Merrick pitched well, but the Tacoma Thunder Wolves still lost the game, falling, 2-0, to the Medford Desperados at Thunder Wolves Stadium. Santiago Rivera earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4.1 innings. He upped his record to 4-3. The win puts Medford at 62-30 this season.
Medford took a 2-0 lead on Randy Ruhl's 14th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Ruhl hit in the top of the eighth, left Tacoma pitcher Gus Parra visibly frustrated.
"I like what I saw today," said Medford manager Noah Alexander, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
