Nashville Breaks Through for First Win in World Series; Now Trails 2-1
The Nashville Lasers have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Hickory Crawdads, winning, 5-2, at Lasers Ballpark. Lasers right-hander Nelson Martinez threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Lasers to 2-1 in the best-of-7 World Series.

Nashville starter Nelson Martinez was exceptional. The 6-foot-4 right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits over 8 innings of work.

"I pretty much put my pitches where I wanted to," said Martinez.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Lasers Ballpark in Nashville.
