Warlocks Win at Home, 6-4
|
The Waco Warlocks picked up a win at Warlocks Grounds, topping the Little Rock Golden Gophers, 6-4. On the mound for Waco was right-hander Matt Toren. He played a principal role in the triumph. Pete Bowden closed it out for his 3rd save. At 41-51, the Warlocks find themselves in third place in the Sub League 1 Central Division.
In the bottom of the first inning, third baseman Chris Gutierre had a 3-run home run for Waco. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Warlocks on top, 3-0.
Despite the victory, Gutierre was prickly with assembled media after the game. He said only that he was "happy with the win."
