Montreal Breaks Through for First Win in League Championship Series; Now Trails 2-1
The Montreal Royals have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Hartford Matadors, winning, 3-2, at Turtles Ballpark. Royals left-hander Leonardo Hernandez threw 7.2 innings allowing 2 runs. The win cuts the deficit facing the Royals to 2-1 in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Royals had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when first baseman Min-tae Hoang hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Joe Stanley and made the score 3-0, Royals. Hoang went 2-4 with 2 singles.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Hoang told the Montreal Citizen.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Turtles Ballpark in Montreal.
