When the games really matter, the Randolph Prairie Thunder put on their best show, beating the Hickory Crawdads by a final score of 6-5. Branden Ryan was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Randolph now leads Hickory 3-2 in the best-of-7 affair.

The decisive blow was delivered by Matt Gaylord in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a solo home run off 31-year old right-handed pitcher Roy Doub to win the game for Randolph. The home crowd went nuts.

"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Randolph manager Michael Kelleher.

The next game is set to be played for Thursday, October 6th , 2022 at Crawdad Park in Hickory.
