Freese Blasts Bellflowers, Earthquakes Take Game 5, 4-3
|
Ft. Wayne Earthquakes first baseman Colby Freese was the difference-maker at Wegman's Field, as he led his club to victory in a pivotal Game 5 of the World Series. The Earthquakes took the 4-3 win over the Buffalo Bellflowers to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Had Freese not come through in the top of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Freese hit a 2-run home run. The Earthquakes took the lead, 4-3, and never looked back.
"I like the roll we're on," said Ft. Wayne manager Du-sung Moon.
The next game is set to be played for Monday, October 4th , 2021 at Earthquakes Stadium in Ft. Wayne.
