Unicorns Lose to Warlocks in Walk-Off
In a close game at Warlocks Grounds, the Waco Warlocks edged the Newport Unicorns, 5-4. Waco first baseman John Sears stood apart with his performance. He was 1-1 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Waco is now 44-43. Newport is 42-45.

The Warlocks were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 21-year old catcher Brian Maughan landed a big blow. He turned a 1-2 fastball from Allen D'Amico into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Warlocks Grounds denizens into a frenzy and sent the Warlocks home with a thrilling 5-4 win.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Newport manager Victor Sepulveda.
