Mighty Mites Rally to Win
The St. Joseph Mighty Mites and Ottawa Lynx needed extra innings at Mighty Mites Park to determine a winner.

The St. Joseph Mighty Mites topped the Ottawa Lynx, 4-3, in 10 innings. St. Joseph shortstop Jim Unknown, in particular, was impressive. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. St. Joseph reliever Jeff Hughes snagged the win, upping his record to 1-2. Ricardo Flores shouldered the loss.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the tenth, an error by the Lynx allowed the Mighty Mites to score the winning run.

"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Ottawa manager Nick Boyd.

Despite the win, St. Joseph still has a brutal 20-65 record.
