Goulbourne, Partons Wallop Desperados in Game 2 of WS
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of shortstop Isaiah Goulbourne, the Dollywood Partons stopped the visiting Santa Rosa Desperados, 8-2, in Game 2 of the World Series. Goulbourne was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Partons, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
A key moment came with two out in the bottom of the third. That's when Goulbourne hit a changeup from Bubba Byrne for a 3-run home run, putting Dollywood up, 5-2.
"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Santa Rosa manager Carlos Acevedo.
The next game is set to be played for Friday, October 1st , 2021 at Keelhaulers Ballpark in Santa Rosa.
