Desperados Heading to World Series
The sweet swing of Matt Evert has led his team through the League Championship Series.

The Santa Rosa Desperados star earned series MVP honors as his club downed the Newark Flyers to advance to the World Series.

The Desperados won the final game at Newark Fields by a score of 7-5 and the series 4-1.

"I'm seeing the ball well and happy to contribute to a win," said Evert. "I hope it continues for the rest of the playoffs."

For the series, Evert hit .400 with a .407 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 5 runs.

The Santa Rosa Desperados don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the White Deer Tropics - Dollywood Partons series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
