Riding the 2-hit performance of second baseman Matt Evert, the Santa Rosa Desperados stopped the visiting Newark Flyers, 5-1, in Game 2 of the League Championship Series. Evert was 2 for 3 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Desperados, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Santa Rosa manager Carlos Acevedo.
