Hex Win, 3-0, Versus Desperados

The Providence Hex, despite a fine performance by Medford pitcher Ben Gallegos, grabbed a 3-0 win at Ballpark of Medford. Gallegos allowed 3 runs over 6 innings. Frank Rivera, who is tied for 3rd in the SL1 with a 8.7 K/9 rate, was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed no runs on 9 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. With the win, Providence upped its record to 46-38.
Providence used the timely hitting of Pete DiBiaso to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Hex ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"A great game, a great day," said DiBiaso about the win. "I can't complain."
