Mighty Mites Drop 6-3 Decision to Golden Gophers
|
The Little Rock Golden Gophers beat the St. Joseph Mighty Mites, 6-3, at Little Rock Grounds. Michel DeRise starred for Little Rock. He went 1 for 1 with 3 walks. Little Rock reliever Jon Peterson picked up the win. Jim Unknown took the loss for St. Joseph. Ronnie Downard collected his 3rd save.
Third Baseman Dean Wolf made an impact for Little Rock, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Jim Unknown in the bottom of the second. For the contest, Wolf was 1 for 4 with a double.
"When their pitchers are leaving stuff over the heart of the plate, we're not missing it," said Little Rock manager Michael Kelleher.
The Sub League 1 West Division-leading Golden Gophers are 47-14.
