Almost There: Stockton On Cusp of CS Triumph After 5-4 Win
|
The Stockton Ragin Cajuns moved to within one game of the World Series, downing the visiting London Tigers at Ballpark of Stockton by a score of 5-4. Ragin Cajuns left-hander Danny Pena had a strong outing in which he threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Ragin Cajuns a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.
Stockton took a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Ben Figueroa hit a clutch solo home run to bring Ragin Cajuns fans to their feet.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Pena.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Stockton in Stockton.
