Golden Gophers Pick Up 5-2 Win
|
Little Rock Golden Gophers starter Caleb Bond turned in an exceptional performance against the Aurora Paints at Little Rock Grounds, resulting in a Little Rock win, 5-2. The winner was Bond. He threw 6.2 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Kieran Carlyle. Vince Isabella earned the save for Little Rock, his 4th of the year.
Tied up with the Paints in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Golden Gophers got a boost from left fielder Joe Bacon. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Bacon saw a 2-1 fastball from Kieran Carlyle and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Little Rock on top, 2-0.
After the game, Little Rock manager Jose Moreno applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
The Golden Gophers boast a remarkable 72-14 record.
