Road Win Lifts Nashville to 1-0 Lead in CS
The Nashville Lasers wasted no time taking the lead in the League Championship Series, beating the Little Rock Governors at Ballpark of Newport News by the score of 5-1. The win gives Nashville a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Lasers left-hander Malcolm Slater threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball.

Mike Thompson dealt the Governors a blow in the top of the third. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Nashville leading 2-1, Thompson hit a 2-1 sinker for a 2-run single.

"We're all smiles after that win," Slater told the Nashville Daily News.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Newport News in Little Rock.
