The Medford Desperados picked up a win at Ballpark of Medford, topping the Pikeville Cavalry, 5-0. On the mound for Medford was right-hander Marty Matthews. He played a principal role in the triumph. The Desperados sport a record of 43-18.

Bill Molohon had a big solo home run for the Desperados in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Medford leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he got a splitter from Scott Foote and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 11th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Desperados ahead, 2-0.

"Marty's stuff looked really, really crisp," said Noah Alexander, the Desperados manager.
