Game 5 was big. So was Josh Shropshire.

In leading Orono to a crucial 5-2 victory over the Fremont Marshalls at University of Maine Stadium, the Orono starter rose to the occasion, tossing 5.1 good innings. Shropshire threw 5.1 innings allowing 2 runs as the Oaks defended their home field to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 Division Series.

The Oaks had to work out of trouble in the top of the sixth. The score was 5-2, Orono, with one out. Fremont, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Mike Townsend dug in at the plate, but on a 0-2 curveball, he flied out.

The next game is set to be played for Sunday, September 26th , 2021 at Hedgehogs Ballpark in Fremont.
