MacKoul Leads Unicorns to Win
The Newport Unicorns and St. Joseph Mighty Mites lit up the scoreboard.

Justin MacKoul knocked in 4 runs to help Newport beat St. Joseph, 10-8. MacKoul produced 1 single, 2 doubles, and 1 home run. Jose Zapata snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 1.1 innings. He's now 1-1 on the season. Earning his 3rd save for Newport was Jordan McAfee.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Unicorns grabbed the lead when MacKoul hit his 6th home run of the season. The grand slam home run off Jim Unknown made it 10-8, Newport.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Unicorns manager Victor Sepulveda. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
