Van Diest Blasts Mad Ants, Royals Take Game 5, 9-5
Montreal Royals left fielder D.J. Van Diest was the difference-maker at Mad Ants Ballpark, as he led his club to victory in a pivotal Game 5 of the Division Series. The Royals took the 9-5 win over the Portland Mad Ants to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Min-tae Hoang aided the Montreal cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh. For the game, the first baseman drew 1 walk in 5 trips to the plate.

Montreal manager Bobby White was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.

Game 6 is scheduled for Monday at Turtles Ballpark in Montreal.
