Newport Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
Starting pitcher Dusty Walkey gave the Ottawa Lynx a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Newport Unicorns, 3-2, at Rivermen Ballpark. Ricardo Flores recorded his 13th save for Ottawa. The Lynx are now 53-25.

Had Jesse Stopper not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Stopper hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Lynx.

"We haven't been playing to the level we want to play," said Newport manager Victor Sepulveda.
