Black Aces Get Clutch Win, 8-7
Thanks in large part to third baseman Danny Rodriguez, the Santa Ana Black Aces clipped the Providence Hex, 8-7, in 16 innings. Rodriguez slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. J.D. Pirillo, now 2-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. Santa Ana's record now stands at 38-16, placing them first in the Sub League 1 Central Division.

Adam Mathis played the role of hero for Santa Ana. In the bottom of the 16th, he launched a solo home run off Dennis Black to win the game. It was his only hit in 7 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.

"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Santa Ana field general Elias Quesada.
