Suns Escape Earthquakes in 10, Now Lead Series 2-1
Nick Kern pitched effectively, but the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes still lost, 3-2, in extra innings to the Moriarty Suns at Super Solarplex. With the win, Moriarty took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 World Series. Kern pitched well, allowing no runs over 6.1 innings.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when pinch hitter Mark Torres, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2022 draft, hit a 2-run home run. The Suns went on to win.

"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Torres said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Super Solarplex in Moriarty.
