The Providence Hex withstood an impressive performance by Waco shortstop Bryan Ryan to defeat the Warlocks, 8-7, at Ballpark of Providence. Ryan was 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winner was Angel Garabito in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Dan Tettemer took the loss. The third-place Hex are 44-36.

The Hex got a clutch hit from right fielder John Rinehart. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Hex.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Rinehart.
