Lynx 5-3 Winners Over Providence
|
The Ottawa Lynx overcame a good performance by Providence first baseman Ruben Guevara to knock off Providence, 5-3, at Rivermen Ballpark. Guevara went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs. Ottawa reliever Pete Tosic picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Carl Bennett took the loss. Randy Nitchals recorded his 3rd save for Ottawa.
Ottawa took a 5-3 lead on Juan Perez's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Perez hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Providence pitcher Carl Bennett visibly frustrated.
"Enjoyed this one," Perez told the Ottawa Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Ottawa now sits at 48-28, while Providence falls to 40-36.
