When the games really matter, the Santa Rosa Desperados put on their best show, beating the St. Catharines Blue Jays by a final score of 9-0. Pete Horne went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once. Santa Rosa now leads St. Catharines 3-2 in the best-of-7 affair.

Horne had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh, when he hit a grand slam home run. The Desperados went on to win.

"We didn't help ourselves, it's as simple as that," said losing manager Walt DeRosier.

Game 6 is scheduled for Sunday at Engineers Ballpark in St. Catharines.
