The Medford Desperados picked up a win at Ballpark of Medford, knocking off the Newport Unicorns, 2-1. Starting pitcher Jesus Martinez played a key role in the triumph. The Sub League 1 East Division-leading Desperados have a record of 51-26.

Lamar Bridges was the walk-off hero for Medford. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Desperados third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"It wasn't easy, but we got it done," said Bridges.
