The St. Catharines Blue Jays got a strong performance from pitcher Miguel Aviles, who stymied the visiting Santa Rosa Desperados en route to a win, 5-1, in Game 2 of the Division Series. The Desperados could never get a bead on the right-handed Aviles, who threw 7.0 innings allowing 1 run. The Blue Jays now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.

Pete Vega chipped in a 2-run home run for St. Catharines in the bottom of the second. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
