Sheridan Blasts Blue Jays, Flyers Take Game 2, 6-4
|
The Newark Flyers defeated the St. Catharines Blue Jays, 6-4, in Game 2 of the Division Series. Making an impact was first baseman Nate Sheridan, who was 4-5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The win moves Newark into a 1-1 tie with St. Catharines in the series.
Sheridan had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the eighth, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Flyers went on to win.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Flyers manager Carlos Almendarez, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Newark Fields in Newark.
