Augusta Win Brings Series to 3-2
|
The Augusta Capitols have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading London Tigers, winning, 5-4, at Ballpark of Oklahoma City. Capitols right-hander Matt Haselden threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Capitols to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Division Series.
With no one out in the top of the fifth, Regis Roper barreled up a changeup from Adrian Radecki. The result was a solo home run, putting the Capitols in front, 5-0.
"We ground out the win," said Roper. "That's all that matters."
The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 18th , 2021 at The Capitol Dome in Augusta.
