Sligar, Desperados Sink Miners Again in Game 2
Riding the 3-hit performance of catcher Mike Sligar, the Santa Rosa Desperados stopped the visiting Glace Bay Miners, 6-5, in Game 2 of the Division Series. Sligar went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Desperados, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.

Gary Nahum's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth was significant, coming with a runner on 2nd and the game tied, 5-5. The Santa Rosa right fielder hit a run-scoring double off Cory Newton to put the Desperados up.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Sligar. "You've got to get results."

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Miners Memorial Bowl in Glace Bay.
