Thompson, Lasers Wallop Royals in Game 2 of DS
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of designated hitter Mike Thompson, the Nashville Lasers got a road win against the Montreal Royals, 8-1, in Game 2 of the Division Series. Thompson went 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Lasers, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
In the top of the third, Thompson had one of his most important at-bats: a grand slam home run off Jim Murphy that staked the Lasers to a 4-0 lead.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Thompson told the Nashville Daily News.
The next game is set to be played for Thursday, September 22nd , 2022 at Lasers Ballpark in Nashville.
