An all-important Game 5 of the Division Series went into extra innings at Razor Sharks Ballpark, with the Mobile Yard Dogs eventually emerging on top. Mobile has Tony Thomas to thank, after the left fielder went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 in the 7-5 victory. The Yard Dogs are now one game away from the League Championship Series, holding a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Thomas delivered big-time for Mobile, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off John Barnes. The game-changing hit put the Yard Dogs on top, 7-5.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Thomas, "one at-bat at a time."

The next game is set to be played for Friday, September 16th , 2022 at Mobile Grounds in Mobile.
