Libertyville Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-2
|
The Libertyville Polecats have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Winchester Mountaineers, winning, 6-3, at Field of the Polecats. Polecats right-hander Ruben Moralez threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Polecats to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Division Series.
With two out in the bottom of the third, Alberto Torres barreled up a fastball from Rich Roberts. The result was a 3-run home run, putting the Polecats in front, 5-0.
Libertyville manager Justin Thiede attributed the win to "a little bit of this and a little bit of that."
Game 6 is scheduled for Friday at Mountaineers Park in Winchester.
