Newport took on Waco in front of a lively crowd.

With Bill Fox leading the charge, the Newport Unicorns defeated the Waco Warlocks, 11-5. Fox was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Unicorns. Danny Fleitas, the winning pitcher, improved to 6-5. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 4 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2.

Newport relied on the hitting of Josh Livesay to pick up the win. The catcher ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the fourth inning to put the Unicorns on top, 3-0. For the game, Livesay had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Fox.
