Freese, Earthquakes Wallop Suns in Game 1 of WS
The Ft. Wayne Earthquakes started the World Series in style, downing the visiting Moriarty Suns at Earthquakes Stadium by a score of 11-2 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Earthquakes first baseman Colby Freese was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3.

Freese was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 against the Suns. In the bottom of the first inning, he hit a 2-run home run that put Ft. Wayne in front, 2-0.

Suns manager Ron Kunkleman did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the World Series."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Earthquakes Stadium in Ft. Wayne.
